Storytelling Centre Foundation

Story-photography project 'The Heroes of Slotermeer' in the Verzetsheldenbuurt in Slotermeer.
In this district, dozens of streets bear the names of heroes of the Second World War and the central Square '40-'45 is a meeting place on Liberation Day. But, for the residents of the neighbourhood, most of them from a migrant background, the connection with WWII is not much more than the names of the streets they live in and the square where they do their shopping. In this project, we investigate how we can strengthen the connection between the 'new residents' and (the history of) their neighbourhood/area.
