'Shallow waters' at the Venice Architecture Biennale
Besides 'City to dust' by Studio LA, the EFL Foundation supported the project 'Shallow waters' by bureau LADA. This photo exhibition is currently on display at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
The project (photography by Wim van Egmond) is a research project by architects and biologists aimed at bridging the gap between art, science and man.
It wants to make people think about the versatility of water and the wealth of populations it contains, as opposed to seeing water as a void. With this, bureau LADA wants to focus on the question: How can humans live together in balance with all other life in shallow waters?
The agency has used images of microorganisms from shallow water to challenge the dominance of humans over other organisms. Instead of seeing rising water levels and water as the enemy, solutions should be sought that encourage inclusiveness and symbiosis between life forms.
The images come from Venetian and Dutch deltas.
Location: Arsenale Venice.
