New chairman

With effect from 1 June 2017, the EFL Board has a new chairperson. Hilde Blank (TU Delft), is director of BVR Adviseurs Ruimtelijke Ontwikkeling. Her work ranges from drawing up integral and strategic visions of the future to concrete area-specific designs, provided with a realisation or development strategy. The design approach and design research are central to her work. Her core qualities are the search for promising combinations, both spatially and programmatically, to get an area process moving and her enthusiastic approach via integral work workshops with entrepreneurs, initiators and other area parties. Hilde often operates at the administrative level, is keen to speed up processes and feels responsible for the content of complex spatial tasks. Hilde is a member of the O-team, a member of the SERraad Noord Nederland and is on the advisory board of the Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving.
"I am very honoured to take over the chairmanship from Maurits de Hoog. The relationship between design, research and policy has always been of great interest to me. This position gives me the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the field and to link the ideas of Van Eesteren, Fluck and Van Lohuizen with current metropolitan issues.
