This is where it happens.

This is where it happens. - a manifestation that celebrates initiative, experiment and interaction in urban development with an exhibition and a diverse programme of activities in the monumental Amstel Church in Amsterdam. Can you plan a do-it-yourself culture? How do you design a street together with the neighbourhood? How do you renew a city without losing the old one? Discover how to make a city together during 'It Happens Here'.

The exhibition features the Ng'ambo Atlas, which showcases the rich cultural landscape of Ng'ambo through storytelling, community mapping and historical research. The publication was developed based on the material collected during the work on the Local Area Plan for Ng'ambo, which was carried out in 2015-2016 by the Government of Zanizbar in collaboration with AAM and the Municipality of Amsterdam.

In light of the new COVID-19 restrictions introduced by the government, it will not be possible to receive you on Friday 19th as planned. Instead, you are invited to attend the exhibition on Saturday 20 October. The organisers will be at the exhibition between 2 and 5 pm for any questions, discussions and detailed explanations.

The exhibition runs until 21 November 2021. More information about opening hours and events via hiergebeurthet.nl. Come and see!
